Morgan W. Streetman
Attorney in Tampa Bay, Florida

 

Mr. Morgan Wood Streetman is the founder and principal of Streetman Law in Tampa, Florida. Mr. Streetman is licensed to practice law in Florida and Mississippi, where he was born. He is also licensed to practice before all federal courts in the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida, the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

 

Mr. Streetman has extensive experience with business transactions and disputes. He has and continues to advise small and closely-held businesses on all of their legal needs, which range from contracts with customers and vendors to employee relations and human resources issues to shareholder or member disputes.

 

Part of Mr. Streetman’s business practice is his niche representing construction-related businesses and individuals. He has handled every aspect of construction, including drafting contracts, helping individuals obtain the proper licenses or qualify a construction business, delay and impact claims, and dealing with payment and performance bond issues. Mr. Streetman had mediated, arbitrated, and litigated through trial the disputes that almost always result from an undertaking with as many moving parts as a construction project. Mr. Streetman also formerly defended construction sureties against bond claims. He is a recognized expert in the industry, having presented at seminars across the country. He now uses that know how to help contractors and subcontractors make successful bond claims.

 

Mr. Streetman helps commercial and residential landlords to develop their lease agreements and handles the removal of problem tenants. He also occasionally helps tenants facing unfair treatment by their landlords.

 

Mr. Streetman represents homeowner and condominium associations seeking unpaid dues and assessments from their members. He regularly files liens to secure payment and knows the ins and outs of taking those liens through foreclosure and judicial sale where necessary. Owners almost always opt to pay their dues and assessments, plus Mr. Streetman’s attorney fees, once they realize that he can and will have their property sold at auction.

 

Mr. Streetman works with non profits throughout the country, assisting with governance issues and fundraising. In the Tampa Bay area, he is active in Wheels of Success, Inc., Support Our Marines, Inc., and The Founders Society. Mr. Streetman enjoys the personal satisfaction he receives from helping others.

 

Mr. Streetman received his law degree from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina and his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Florida in Gainesville. While at the University of Florida, Mr. Streetman was honored with election to the Phi Beta Kappa Society, which is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious academic honor society. The Society invites less than 1 percent of graduating seniors to become members.
