Construction

Streetman Law regularly advises owners, contractors, and subcontractors on all aspects of the construction business. We have helped numerous contractors apply for and obtain their required contractor licenses, both locally and at the state level. We have helped contractors and owners draft and negotiate construction contracts. We typically recommend that they use a form contract with certain proprietary modifications that we have developed over the years. This saves our clients money while still fully protecting them. Streetman Law regularly handles payment bond claims by unpaid subcontractors against surety bonding companies. Mr. Streetman has written scholarly papers on the subject and has spoken at many conferences for the surety industry, educating claims people and underwriters about best practices and common pitfalls. Now he leverages that experience to help subcontractors make payment bond claims in a format that makes it more likely that they will be paid quickly. Streetman Law is also fully familiar with the complicated realm of construction liens, which formerly were called mechanic’s liens. Streetman Law offers flat-fee (all expenses included) construction liens for $250. We do this as a service to contractors and subcontractors because we enjoy helping them get paid for a job well done. Streetman Law represents homeowners against their builders for construction defects and building code violations, even in the face of the egregious and unfair contracts most builders make new home buyers sign.

Personal Injury

If you have been injured as a result of someone else’s negligence, Streetman Law can fight for you to obtain the compensation you deserve for your injuries. We work with experts to develop a realistic expectation of the lifetime value of your injuries. A realistic opinion by a trusted expert of the lifetime value of your injuries is compelling evidence to an insurance adjuster. The right time to call Streetman Law is immediately upon your injury. You should not give any statements whatsoever to any insurance company until you have talked to your lawyer

Premises Liability

If you have been injured on someone else’s property, there is likely an insurance policy that covers your injuries. If injured, you should immediately contact a lawyer to discuss the circumstances of your injury. It is crucial to preserve evidence of the place where you were injured. If there is a hole in the sidewalk where you tripped or water on the floor where you slipped and fell, take several pictures with your cell phone or other camera. Remember that you should not give any statements whatsoever to any insurance company, property owner, private security guard, or any other non-law enforcement officer until you have talked to your lawyer. Premises liability cases present unique challenges in preserving evidence and working with experts. Put our experience and contacts to work for you.

Trial

Streetman Law loves nothing more than taking cases to trial. Despite our deep enthusiasm for trial, we understand that trial is prohibitively expensive for most people and we work hard to help our clients achieve justice without the need for a costly trial. Sometimes, however, trial cannot be avoided and Streetman Law is called upon to prepare for a battle to vindicate the weak and fight for justice for the oppressed. Our trial philosophy is to relentlessly prepare ourselves, our evidence, our witnesses, and our clients.
